Probably £5k or less I reckon as if it isn't functional then you are really talking about the parts break up value. It reads like you want the car to live on and I expect it will be hard to sell the car as is, even if priced low. Getting it mended is what id like to do of course as I love my car - and apart from that its mechanically spot on. Whilst working out the figures, I may cut my losses and sell as a great car but blown engine and save the hassle of getting the engine fitted / rebuilt. I need to pull the engine and strip it to see just what happened, but also im not under the illusion that im most likely looking at a replacement engine to go in. Just about to go to 103k miles and had a Minor service at the OPC December 15. Full history, new discs / pads / tyres / droplinks / coffin arms etc. Would £5k in its current state be about right? or much less?Ĭar is a late 1998, C2 Tip. This was after just having an inspection by the OPC to say its in great mechanical order! Sods law eh.ĭoes anyone know the rough market value of cars with a blown engine? Man maths would say last week I could sell mine for £10k all day long, £12k if I wanted to wait due to the spec, history and condition. On Sunday my 996.1 decided it no longer wanted a working engine. Posted: Tue 9:48 am Post subject: Market price for a 996 with a blown engine?
